More songs and calls

Late Winter Activity

These Black-capped Chickadees seemed to be defending territory. They Chicka-dee-dee as we passed by.  The behavior seemed quite normal, as these small active birds commonly approach strangers with their alarm call of chicka-dee-dee.  

The Chickadees were upset with more than us, though.  Shortly after this video was taken, two of them clasped each other, and tumbled down through the shrubs to the ground .   It seems that at least on this occasion, the chicka dee-dee scold was not meant for us.
